Parents as Teachers is founded on the belief that parents are a child's first and best teacher. The program focuses on helping parents prepare children for a strong start in life. Through Parents as Teachers, parents collaborate with specially-trained educators and health care providers to create healthy environments for success. Program educators support families by facilitating parent-child interaction, encouraging development-centered parenting and promoting family well-being.
Parents as Teachers is an evidenced-based, home visiting program operating in communities around the globe. Program educators conduct visits twice monthly to monitor child development, answer parenting questions and address other struggles that could interfere with a child's success in these crucial early years.
Parents as Teachers is open to pregnant individuals and families with children under the age of three who live in Camden County.
